Kansas Highway Patrol Troopers will be joining a multi-state effort to increase highway traffic safety this Thursday.
Officers from Iowa, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Kansas will be stepping up enforcement along I-35. They will be focusing on speeding, impaired driving, and seat belt violations.
Highway Patrol Superintendent Terry Maple says their goal is to lower the number of preventable crashes.
This effort is in conjunction with the statewide Labor Day Holiday Special Traffic Enforcement Program - STEP.
STEP enforcement began earlier this month and runs trough Labor Day.
