For the first time since regulators shut down their bank Friday night---Columbian Bank and Trust customers could get in the doors Monday morning.

"Citizens Bank & Trust has opened up following the change over from Columbian and its business as usual for the mass majority of depositers. They've assumed all the insured deposits and everything is going extremely well," says Richard Schmalzer, with FDIC speaking of Citizens Bank & Trust.

The Kansas state bank commissioner handed control of Columbian Bank and Trust to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. The banks deposits will be assumed by Citizens Bank and Trust of Chillicothe, Missouri.

"It has been a wonderul day. A great opportunity to meet Topeka's citizens. People have been asking questions about what they need to do and how things are going to work out as we said all weekend long...it's business as usual," says Carrie Almond, Executive Vice President of corporate development, Citizens Bank.

Marcia Nordstrom, a Columbian Bank & Trust customer for 20 years says, "it'll be alright. I was shocked, but I came in and everything is normal."

Customers were shocked at the news at first but were ready to do business with their new bank Citizens Bank and Trust.
