WAKARUSA, Kan. - The Shawnee County Sheriff's Office reports that the driver of the white, 2003 Chevy Malibu, who was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, is identified as Eric S. Kennedy, 24, of Scranton.
The car’s occupants were Ashley J. Hale, 18, of Scranton, Jerrid W. Johnston, 24, of Topeka and Bree Crawford, 19, of Topeka. Hale was transported to St. Francis Hospital by AMR, Lifestar took Johnston to Stormont-Vail Hospital and Crawford was taken to Stormont-Vail by AMR and later flown to KU Med in Kansas City.
The accident report indicates Kennedy and Hale were not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, but Johnston and Crawford were.
