I'll be the first to admit, cooking and baking can be tricky. In fact, I wouldn't hesitate to call that work in the kitchen, a work of art.
So I headed to Hazel Hill on Kansas Avenue to watch co-owner Nick Xidis make a batch of Black Forest Fudge for a happy crowd. Wow, I had no idea making fudge was such a workout, not to mention the "chemistry" it takes getting the ingredients to the perfect temperature at just the right time.
Take a look at not only the delicous fudge but the hundreds of elegantly-decorated chocolates that fill the cases of Hazel Hill. Watch out if you have a sweet tooth - you'll be tempted to drive straight to the store!
If you want to stop by Hazel Hill yourself, it's at 724 S. Kansas Ave. next to the Classic Bean. Or just call to set up a group fudge demonstration at 785-215-8883.
