(Topeka, KS)--Customers of Columbian Bank & Trust were stunned to learn it is being shut down and taken over by the FDIC, who will cede control Monday to Citizens Bank & Trust.
But no one was more shocked than the Nolins. Floyd and Polly have banked at Columbian for more than 40 years. Polly even worked there before she met Floyd.
She said it is like meeting old friends again every time she goes to the bank.
Now, they are left wondering what to do next. Their finances are secure, thanks to FDIC insurance. But what about the people they like to see working there?
A majority will remain at the bank, under its new name. Some, possibly loan officers, will work for FDIC.
One thing is for sure...when doors open Monday morning, there will be floods of customers ready with questions.
