LARNED, Kan. (AP) _ An employee at the Larned State Hospital is charged with helping a convicted sex offender escape from the facility's sexual predator treatment program.
Pawnee County authorities say Colean McKoy, 55, is likely to face charges of aiding a person required to register as a sex offender and conspiracy to commit aggravated escape.
McKoy is suspected of helping Perry Isley, 50, escape the hospital grounds on August 5th by cutting his way through two fences.
Assistant county attorney Douglas McNett said Isley was captured without incident the next day in Colorado. McNett said Isley's first court appearance is Friday.
Isley was sent to Larned in March 2006 after serving 11 years in prison for two convictions in Shawnee County for aggravated indecent liberties with a child younger than 14.
