TOPEKA, Kan. - The City of Topeka has issued a stream advisory for the Wanamaker Creek area (flows northwest from 10th and Wanamaker to the Kansas River).
It appears a small amount of sewage got into the creek Monday morning due to a break. The break has been temporarily fixed and the flow has since been stopped. The City is working to permanently repair the line.
As a precautionary measure, people, particularly children, and pets are asked to stay away from the creek until the stream advisory has been lifted.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has been notified.
