The ichabod spirit was very much alive in the community Saturday morning.
Nearly 50 students gathered at Washburn University to sign up for various volunteer jobs throughout the city. It's all part of bod blast week, where freshmen are introduced to the campus and have a chance to interact with other students while doing community service.
One group headed out to the Hillcrest Community Center to paint, clean up and make their contribution to the community.
Bod blast week is sponsored by learning in the community and the washburn student government association.
