COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) A woman's body is found in the trunk of a car that motorists reported was driving recklessly on a busy highway in Columbia.
Police sent to an area near Memorial Stadium Thursday night said a car matching a description provided by witnesses was stopped along U.S. 63. After a 19-year-old man was taken into custody on traffic offenses, a search of the vehicle uncovered the body of a woman in the trunk.
She was identified Friday morning as 53-year-old Helen Sanders of Columbia.
The cause and time of her death are unknown, but police said Sanders' body did not display any obvious signs of serious injury.
The driver and a 16-year-old boy remain in custody as persons of interest.
Several motorists called 911 at around 8:25 p.m. to report the car was driving without headlights and ``weaving dangerously.''
