An increase in juvenile offenders has the Shawnee County Corrections head asking for more full-time employees.

Director Richard Kline asked Shawnee County Commissioners Monday to include funding for 15 new positions in the 2009 budget.

Kline says there has been a steady population growth at the juvenile detention center, and more staff is needed.

The request will be further discussed as commissioners craft the budget plan.
