Topeka police are questioning a man this morning after a woman says she was held captive for almost 24 hours. Authorities say police responded to a home in the 500 block of Grattan Wednesday night at about 11:15 p.m. after a woman showed up to the house claiming she'd been beaten up.

She explained to police that she was held against her will for about 1 day before she was able to escape and run to a nearby house for help.
She was taken to an area hospital for her injuries. She was treated and later released.

Police are interviewing the suspect.
