Plans for the Metropolitan Topeka Airport Authority's future are taking the next step.
The MTAA Board met Tuesday to approve the 2009 budget. The spending plan includes MTAA's future plans for infrastructure and equipment needs to maintain and improve the facility.
In addition to budget talk, Tim Cochran of the MTAA Police and Fire Department briefed board members on his recent trip to Kosovo. Cochran served nine months as part of a U.S. task force with the 35th division forward. He says the unit was on hand when the country's independence was recognized.
