Topeka Police have closed the 4100 block of SW 6th. City officials say a storm sewer collapsed, causing the pavement to buckle and leave a hole in the street.

City spokesperson Dave Bevens says the line will need to be replaced. Work could take until Aug. 22nd, longer if there is rainy weather.

Those needing to access Chalet Apartments should enter off Gage Blvd. Those needing to get to residential areas between Fairlawn and Yorkshire will need to come off Fairlawn.
