He's led the emergency crews as they've answered more than one million calls for help. Now, Bill Singer is calling it a career.
Singer is director of Shawnee County's emergency communication system. He retired from the position Thursday.
Shawnee County Commissioners presented Singer with a plaque honoring his 13 years of service. He says he's seen many changes in emergency communications and information technology since he began the job.
Singer is now 65-years old. He says he'd like to spend more time with his grandkids. However, he's also launched a campaign for Shawnee County Treasurer. He faces incumbent Larry Wilson.
