Jeff Elder has been appointed by Governor Sebelius to the District Court of the 2nd Judicial Circuit. The recently created position serves Jefferson, Jackson, Pottawatomie, Wabaunsee Counties.
"Jeff's experience and objectivity will make him an excellent district court judge," said Sebelius. "i am pleased that he will continue his service to the citizens of Kansas."
In twenty-five years of legal service, Kansas' newest jurist has practiced both civil and criminal law, including three terms as the Pottawatomie County attorney. In that post, he oversaw all criminal prosecutions and juvenile offenses as well as child in need of care and care and treatment proceedings.
Elder received both his bachelor's degree and juris doctorate from the University of Kansas. He and his wife, Erika, are the parents of two children, Megan and Ryan.
