Democrat Jim Slattery might not even be passed his primary but that is not stopping him from being the target of Republican Senator Pat Roberts' ads. On Tuesday Slattery held a news conference to dispute the ads he calls an "outrage."
"Pat Roberts is attacking me to distract from his record," Slattery said, "and Kansas deserves better."
Meanwhile, Senator Roberts' campaign fired back saying the commercials that are airing are true.
"I challenge Pat Roberts to end his negative personal attack ads and engage with me in a discussion about the issues important to Kansas and the future of our country," said Roberts.
