An internal investigation into the incident is now beginning. The three other off-duty officers who were involved will remain on paid administrative leave at this time pending the completion of the District Attorney’s review and an internal investigation. Their names have not yet been released.
Because this is a personnel matter, the police department is unable to go into further details regarding this issue.
A 27-year-old and 18-year-old male were critically injured in the shooting at 7418 SW 25th St., Topeka.
