The first hurricane of the season has hit south Texas. Hurricane Dolly reached the shore Wednesday.
The American Red Cross in Topeka is on its way to help in the Lone Star state.
The Red Cross packed up an emergency response vehicle this morning to send with two volunteers.
They'll drive to San Antonio and then be sent to where the need is greatest. They will hand out meals, distribute supplies, cleanup and help disaster workers.
The volunteers say the experience of helping in these situations can be humbling.
