TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) _ Fundraising is an issue for the Republican candidates in the 2nd Congressional District.
Each has turned to out-of-state contributors in the race for the chance to take on Democratic incumbent Nancy Boyda.
Republican challengers Lynn Jenkins and Jim Ryun have both been critical of the other turning to out-of-state sources for funding.
Recently, Jenkins was in New York for an event promoted by the WISH List, which seeks to elect women who support abortion rights. The group alerted its members that Jenkins was in the city and encouraged contributions, though it did not host the event.
Ryun's events included one last summer hosted by Texas Gov. Rick Perry. Ryun also has received funds from several national conservative organizations.
