The speed limit is going up on a stretch of Topeka area road.
The Shawnee County Commission Monday approved an increase in the speed limit on the 29th street corridor.
It's being raised from 35 to 40 miles-per-hour on SE 29th from Wittenberg Road westward to the Topeka city limits.
The speed limit southwest 29th street from Mission Woods drive to Arvonia will also go up to 40.
City officials say the change will make the limit in that area consistent and less confusing to motorists.
