Manhattan city commissioners say they'll replace the community pool despite the cost.
City Park Pool was closed June 24th due to safety concerns.
The Manhattan Mercury reports that city commissioners have decided to move forward with the multi-million dollar replacement even if it means relying on property taxes to pay for it in the future.
The project could cost as much as six million dollars.
The Mercury reports construction of the new city park pool could start by next month and open July 1st of next year.
