Members of the Kansas National Guard are heading to Northern California to help battle the massive wildfires.

The Kansas National Guard is sending 15 soldiers along with two helicopters.

The helicopters are UH-60 Black Hawks equipped with six hundred and sixty gallon buckets that can scoop up water to be dumped on flames.

No word on how long we will be aiding in the fire efforts or if more members of the National Guard will be needed.
