MAYETTA, Kan. - About 8:00 p.m. Jackson County Sheriff's Deputies were called to a residence on S Road, Mayetta.
Sheriffs deputies say a woman called to say her husband, William Miller, Jr. was destroying their vehicle and residence.
While on the phone with the woman, authorities actually heard gunshots.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they say Miller was standing outside, challenging deputies with a rifle.
After a short standoff they were able to talk Miller into giving up and took him into custody. Deputies say Miller sustained minor injuries to his hands before deputies arrived.
Miller is charged with Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, Aggravated Assault, Endangering a Child and felony Criminal Damage to Property.
