TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Local jail visits will soon ride the wave of technology.
The Shawnee County Adult Detention Center website lists a change in visitation rules
The SNADC will go live with an integrated visitation system on Tuesday allowing a visitation on site or from a remote location equipped with high speed internet, a personal computer and a web cam.
Visits in-person are limited to 20 minutes while remote visits may be 20 or 40 minutes.
Remote and on-site visits must be scheduled 24 hours in advance by the visitor.
The very first visit using the new system is scheduled for Wednesday January 22.
