Fraudulent Coupons Forces Target to Quit Accepting $5 Off Coupons

Target said it will no longer accept coupons for $5 off because a fraudulent coupon has surfaced.

Originally the company sent coupons to customers via e-mail that said they could be redeemed for $5 off a toy purchase of $25 or more.

The fake coupon has the word "toy" removed.

Target says the coupon is no longer valid and signs will be posted at checkouts to notify customers.

Customers who originally received the coupon will now get a $5 gift-card by mail.
