Two Finalists Named for New Judge's Position

Two Wamego attorneys are finalists for a newly created judge's position.

The Second Judicial District nominating commission selected Jeffrey Elder and John Watt from among seven applicants. Both have private practices. Watt also is an assistant county counselor for Pottawatomie County.

Their names have been forwarded to Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, who has thirty days to appoint one of them.

The Second Judicial District includes Pottawatomie, Wabaunsee, Jackson and Jefferson counties.
