(Edwardsville, KS) -- Two children were the only survivors of a crash which killed both their parents in Edwardsville overnight Wednesday.
The accident closed parts of Interstate 435 in Wyandotte County for several hours.
The eight year-old and six month-old children were riding in back and investigators believe both parents were in the front seats when the driver apparently lost control of their SUV at the intersection of Interstate 435 and K-32.
37-year-old Daniel Jamela & 34-year-old Marigold Jamela both from Omaha Nebraska are confirmed dead in the crash.
8-year-old Mishael Jamela & 6 month old Mario Jamela both survived the crash and taken to Children's Mercy Hopsital.
The truck crossed the median and hit a Federal Express vehicle headed the other way. No one in the FedEx truck was hurt.
The crash remains under investigation by the Kansas Highway Patrol.
