Police in Wichita say a teenage girl was shot and killed in what may have been a road rage incident.
Homicide Detective Lt. Ken Landwehr said that 17-year-old Lesha Donaby of Arkansas was the passenger in a vehicle being driven by an 18-year-old woman Monday night.
The 18-year-old told police they were driving behind a white Pontiac Grand Am when the Pontiac stopped abruptly in the middle of the street.
The 18-year-old woman honked her horn and drove around the Pontiac but then the Pontiac followed them. The two sides pulled over and exchanged words.
Police say one of the two men in the Pontiac pulled a gun and fired, hitting Donaby in the torso.
She later died. The other woman in the car was not hurt. Police say Donaby was spending the summer in Wichita with her uncle.
