TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) - An agency that reviews tax disputes has a new name and its top staff member has a new title, but that person is staying put.
Gov. Kathleen Sebelius announced Tuesday that she has named Trevor Wohlford, of Lawrence, chief hearing officer for the state Court of Tax Appeals.
As of Tuesday, that's the new name for what was the state Board of Tax Appeals, a three-member group that reviews disputes taxpayers have with counties or the state. Legislators made that change this year, believing it would improve the handling of such cases.
Wohlford had been the Board of Tax Appeals' executive director and chief counsel since 2004.
