Formerly Homeless Graduate Program

Six area people were recognized for bettering themselves Friday morning.

Kansas Legal Service hosted a graduation ceremony for the 32nd graduating class of the Topeka Moving Ahead Program.

The 13 week course teaches students skills and aids in finding permanent housing. The group also helps with other services like real-world internships. Participants in the program used to be homeless.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has awarded a grant for the program to continue into 2009.
