Thursday afternoon community members a chance to honor a leader in the Capital City.
The United Way held an open house today in recognition of retiring CEO Nancy Perry.
Members in the community stopped by to give their final thanks to Nancy for her dedication during the last 24 years of her service with the united way of greater Topeka.
"I've been very fortunate to live in this community, raise our family here. Also to leave something that I really have loved for the last, almost 25 years; it's been a wonderful life. I've worked with the brightest and the best staff wise, as well as volunteers. I have been a very, very fortunate individual," said Nancy Perry, CEO of Topeka United Way.
Nancy retires as CEO in July.
Miriam Krehbiel will take over as head of the agency.
