TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) _
The 102nd Military History Detachment of the Kansas Army
National Guard will spend the next year conducting interviews,
gathering documents, taking photos and shooting video that will
become the official record from Afghanistan. The materials will be
sent back to the U.S. Army Center of Military History in
Washington, D.C. From there the items are cataloged in the military
history collection system.
Soldiers have been training at National Guard's Salina center
and will continue training in July at Fort Benning, Ga., before
heading to Afghanistan.
