ATCHISON, Kansas-- Wannis "David" Widner, Jr. was sentenced in Atchison County Court Monday.
Jerry Kuckelman, Atchison County Attorney, says Widner received on Monday a total of 126 months at the Department of Corrections for a shooting in October that left two men injured.
He will receive credit for the time he has already spent in jail since his arrest October 30th.
Kuckelman also said there was a claim to pay for medical bills made, but the judge has not made a ruling on that yet.
Widner pleaded no-contest in May to the charges as part of a plea deal. The deal amended the charges down from three charges of attempted first degree murder, aggravated battery and aggravated assault.
Widner went into Flyer's on the Green on the night of October 28th looking for his estranged wife. He ended up shooting the 40-year-old restaurant manager and a 21-year-old that was cook at the restaurant.
