TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Residents began learning about the daily operations of the Shawnee County Sheriff's Office Wednesday night.
The 2014 Sheriff's Office Citizen's Academy kicked-off Wednesday evening with introductions and a tour of the Law Enforcement Center.
The 13-week program aims to develop positive relations between the Sheriff's Office and the community by teaching residents about traffic enforcement, K-9 training, and crime scene investigations among other topics.
The program is held every Wednesday through April 2nd.
