The State of Kansas is making several resources available to victims of the June 11 tornadoes. The Kansas Social and Rehabilitation Services is providing emergency assistance to help meet the immediate needs of those impacted by the storm including food.
The Kansas Department of Revenue has notified state driver's license offices and county treasurers offices to allow them to replace identification cards and driver's licenses for those who lost theirs during the tornadoes.
Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) has sent crews to Chapman to help with storm clean-up. And the Kansas Department of Agriculture sent food safety inspectors to storm sites to help businesses determine what food to destroy.
Additionally, Governor Kathleen Sebelius has requested the United Way set up a fund for relief in response to the storm. The United Way has agreed and anyone wishing to help victims can make checks payable to United Way Tornado Relief, and mail them to
