WASHINGTON (AP) _ Former Representative Jim Ryun will premiere his first TV ad this week in his bid to reclaim his old congressional seat.
The 60-second spot shows images of Ryun jogging down a dirt road along with old photos of his career as a record-breaking track star and Olympic runner.
Ryun's campaign manager says the ad is meant to tell Kansas voters more about his past and what drives him.
Ryun lost his 2nd District Congressional seat to Democrat Nancy Boyda in 2006.
His ad will be shown in the Topeka TV market starting Tuesday, June 17. It does not mention his Republican primary opponent, state treasurer Lynn Jenkins.
