SHAWNEE, Kan. (AP) _ Authorities in northeast Kansas say they're not looking for a suspect in the shooting deaths of two women found along a rural trail in a suburban Kansas City park.

Johnson County Sheriff's Deputy Rick Howell says a gun was found near where a visitor to the park in Shawnee spotted the bodies Wednesday afternoon.

Both women appeared to be in their 50s, and both had been shot in the head. It's not known how long they had been dead.

The bodies were found in woods along the Gary Haller Trail, about 150 feet into Mill Creek Streamway Park.

Although there was no search for a shooter, authorities would not speculate on the possibility of suicide. Howell says a vehicle parked in the trailhead lot may be connected to the women.
