WICHITA, Kan. (AP) _ A hearing will be held this week on whether a Haysville nurse accused of running a ``pill mill'' with her husband should be released pending trial.
Linda Schneider and her husband were arrested in December. The 34-count federal indictment against the Schneiders alleges that they directly caused four deaths and contributed to the deaths of 11 other patients.
Stephen Schneider was released in April. But prosecutors are seeking Linda Schneider's continued detention, saying she is a flight risk.
Magistrate Judge Donald Bostwick on Monday set an evidentiary hearing for 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
Prosecutors say Linda Schneider talked to a jailhouse informant about obtaining a false identification to use if she's released.
