WICHITA, Kan. (AP) _ A man charged with plotting a pregnant 14-year-old girl's murder had been accused twice before of sexual crimes involving teenage girls.
The Wichita Eagle reports today that police looked into allegations against Elgin Robinson Junior both in 2004 and 2005.
Robinson was accused of touching a 14-year-old girl sexually in the 2004 incident. The 2005 allegations involved a 16-year-old girl who claimed he forcibly raped her.
Robinson wasn't charged in either case. Authorities said it was because of a lack of evidence or a lack of cooperation from a possible victim.
The Eagle's story is based on police reports and interviews with one of the alleged victims and parents of both girls.
Val Wachtel, Robinson's defense attorney, declined to comment on the previous allegations.
