Lawrence Murder Suspect May Be Tried as an Adult

The 16 year old suspect in last weekends double homicide in Lawrence may be tried as an adult.

Prosecutors have filed a motion seeking to have Kellam D. Jones tried as an adult in the shooting deaths last weekend of 20-year-old Roland Kloont and 18-year-old Gage Hauk, of McLouth.

Jones has been charged as a juvenile with two counts of felony first-degree murder and one count of attempted aggravated robbery.

A hearing on the motion will be June 23, which was when Jones was scheduled to be tried as a juvenile.
