Eighteen hundred residents of Manhattan, as well as another three hundred across the Riley County remain without power, according to Westar officials. They lost power during Wednesday night's severe weather.
In all, around three thousand Westar customers still do not have electricity, though the utility says it has restored power to 18,000 residents.
A spokesperson for the company said the storms knocked down around fifty power lines in north and north-central Kansas. She reminded anyone who sees a downed power line to not touch or even go near it for safety's sake.
