An historic Topeka landmark will get a renovation thanks to help from an area business.
CoreFirst Bank and Trust presented the Hale Ritchie House with a $10,000 check Wednesday morning.
The contribution will go towards renovations and restoration of the house. The group plans to create a center for area third and seventh graders to learn about state and local history.
Hale Ritchie was the son of early Topeka settlers John and Mary Ritchie.
The couple were instrumental in making Topeka a political and commercial force in the area.
