(Topeka, Kan.) - A rash of car thefts had the Shawnee County Sheriff's Office busy Monday morning.

It started before 6:30 when police got a report of two vehicles missing from the 5000 Block of Northwest Rochester Road.

Those vehicles are a tan Ford Explorer and a blue pick-up truck.

Officers spotted the tan Explorer in the 2400 block of Rochester and followed it to Tyler.

That's when the driver wouldn't pull over and officers chased the explorer to the 1200 block of Northwest Eugene where they arrested the male driver.

Then in a different incident, officers got a report of a stolen red Trans Am on Southwest 103rd street when officers noticed a Red Volkswagen Bug.

After investigation officers discovered the bug was reported stolen from a Carbondale resident.

Officers are still looking for the red Trans Am and the blue pick up.
