The damage is being assessed and clean up has begun Wednesday (6/4) after a powerful storm ripped through southeastern Kansas last night (6/3).
Several homes and buildings were damaged in Winfield by the hail and high winds.
Trees and power lines were toppled by winds packing speeds of between 80 and 100 miles per hour.
Crews were out Wednesday cleaning up downed trees and debris and the whir of chainsaws filled the air. Utility crews were also busy fixing power lines.
Winfield is about fifty miles southeast of Wichita.
