Officials also responded to one Topeka neighborhood where a home was struck by lightning, sending a woman to the hospital.
Howard Marlow says his wife called him from home about nine o-clock.
"During the call we had a flash of lightning and the phone went dead, said she was hit, tasted metal in her mouth. (She) said (the) fire department was across the street because lightning hit the neighbor's house," said Howard Marlow.
"I was ironing, heard a boom and the house shook. Neighbors said lightning hit the house, there's shingles all over the yard. Next thing we find out our neighbor got hit by lightning," said Melissa Rodriguez, whose house was truck my lightning.
She was conscious and moving when she was taken to the hospital and seemed to be in good condition.
