Kingman Police Chief Pleads Guilty, Resigns

KINGMAN, Kan. (AP) _ The chief of police in Kingman resigns after pleading guilty to having a violent altercation with his girlfriend.

In a hearing Friday, John Braden pleaded guilty to a felony charge of criminal threat and misdemeanor battery in connection with the April 26 incident with his girlfriend.

Kingman City Manager Frank Soukup announced that Braden has resigned from his post, effective Monday. Braden was suspended with pay after the incident.
