Jewell, KS -- Tornado damage in the town of Jewell Thursday evening left the town without power or water. It was a truly hit-and-miss storm -- some areas were destroyed, some were untouched.

No one was seriously injured, though one person needed stitches. The Red Cross was on the scene quickly.

The town's water tower was mangled and knocked over, leaving the town with no water overnight.

It also did a great deal of damage to the Calvary Bible Church. The east side of the church had little damage, while the entire west wall, and much of the roof were blown out.

A kennel was also destroyed, leaving dozens of dogs on the loose while the owners of the dogs searched for them late into the dark night.

Dateline:
*Between 2:00 and 3:00 pm, Storm begins to form in western Kansas.
*8:44 Tornado touched down in Jewell.
*Church, water tower, homes and businesses destroyed.
*Red Cross arrives before midnight.
