TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) _ A woman who helped a convicted murderer escape from Lansing Correctional Facility in a dog crate two years ago has been released from federal prison.
Toby Young was released Friday from a halfway house after serving time at the Federal Detention Center in Houston, according the U.S. Bureau of Prisons. She faces three years of probation.
The former prison volunteer served more than two years in state and federal prisons for helping John Manard escape inside a dog crate in a van she used for a dog training program at the prison.
