Topeka Police Officer Injured In Police Car Accident

Topeka Police Corporal Mitch Campbell was injured in a police car accident when his patrol car collided with another vehicle at 6:30PM at 17th & MacVicar.

The squad car was traveling west on 17th street when it collided with a northbound vehicle on MacVicar.

Police say that his injuries are minor and are likely from the airbag deployment. They say he was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

The driver of the other vehicle is 26-year-old Joshua Herr from Topeka. He too was injured in the crash, police say his injures were minor and to his head.

Both victims were treated at the scene for their injuries.

The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing and police say they will be looking into what color the light was at the intersection.
