Cocaine use is on the rise in Topeka -- but its not the dangerous, addictive drug. It is a new energy drink that people of all ages can consume. it is high in sugar and caffeine, and is supposed to give drinkers a buzz.
Some are not amused by the title however. Dr. Eric Voth, an addiction specialist, has treated cocaine abuse, and finds nothing funny about it at all.
He says the drug is addictive, and people will bypass food, water and sex to use it. Many can never recover, and die as a result.
Not every store is selling the drink, but Voth advises those who are selling it to stop. It sends a bad message to the youth of the city.
